The Athlete Ready Speed & Agility Program provides our clients with assessment-based, results-driven, ability-appropriate training that includes our first step, top speed, change of direction, stopping ability, and speed endurance series within our energy system development framework. We focus on maximum efficiency and efficacy while also reducing injury risk, developing and maintaining optimal movement patterns, and ensuring quick recovery.
Central to our ethos is a commitment to a progressive approach that is sports and position specific. We start you where you're at and make sure you peak at the right time.
ASSES. PERFORM. PEAK.
INDIVIDUALIZED TRAINING
Track speed is different from field and court speed, which are all different from the ability to cut or juke or jump high. Therefore, speed and agility training should not take a cookie-cutter approach. The Athlete Ready Speed and Agility Program is tailored to individual athletes and their specific sport and position.
Standardized approaches to speed & agility training also do not account for when in the season an athlete should peak. Our training programs are competition-based, meaning that we get you to peak at the right times during your season, including for multi-sport athletes.
We also strongly believe that speed and agility training should be done by building a strong, supple, and safe framework for the athlete. This includes strength development, optimizing movement patters, and injury risk reduction techniques.

SPEED & AGILITY COACHING FAQs
Agility is a multifaceted physical attribute that involves the rapid and precise coordination of balance, speed, strength, and endurance to change the body's position efficiently. This complex skill is built on several core components: Balance, which is the skill to maintain equilibrium whether in motion or stationary; Speed, which refers to moving the body or its parts swiftly; Strength, which is the capacity of muscles to overcome resistance; and Coordination, which combines body movements in sync with sensory feedback. This ability is critical not just in daily activities but also plays a pivotal role in various sports, where the specific requirements of agility can vary significantly based on the demands of each sport.
Agility training for sports is a specialized form of physical training that enhances an athlete's ability to move quickly, change direction efficiently, and maintain control under pressure. It integrates a series of exercises that focus on improving balance, coordination, speed, reflexes, strength, and endurance. This type of training is tailored to the demands of various sports, using drills that mimic sport-specific movements and scenarios. Agility training not only helps athletes perform better but also reduces the risk of injuries by improving the body’s ability to react to sudden changes in direction.
We base our youth sports performance programs on The Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. This is a framework that ensures the holistic and progressive development of athletes from early childhood through all phases of adulthood. It is structured around several sequential stages that cater to the physical, psychological, and sports-specific needs of athletes as they grow and mature. The stages range from introducing basic motor skills to young children in a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment, to optimizing performance in high-performance athletes, designing programs for late-adolescence and early-adulthood; and encouraging ongoing fitness and health throughout life. One of the primary goals of this model is to promote lifelong engagement in sports and physical activity, whether for competitive athletics or a healthy lifestyle.
For child and youth athletes, each stage of the LTAD model is designed to match the developmental age and readiness of the athlete, rather than their chronological age alone. This approach helps to minimize the risks of overtraining, injuries, and burnout, while maximizing physical and mental development. The model often emphasizes a multi-sport approach in early stages to develop a broad athletic base. Too much single-sport focus in childhood can lead to asymmetrical physical and skill development. As athletes progress through the stages, the model allows for increased specialization. This structured yet flexible development pathway helps athletes achieve their personal best in sports, while also equipping them with the skills and habits necessary for lifelong physical activity.
Our expert coaches all have top qualifications, including BA, BS, and MS and certifications from CSCS, NASM, IYCA, USA-Weightlifting, Exos, FRC, GOATA, and NFPT among others.

We offer classes after school on weekdays and in the morning on Saturdays. We have a wider range of time-slots in the summer and also have sports-specific summer camps. Please give us a call today to find out about our current schedule.
Prices depend on frequency and commitment. The more classes or sessions per week and the longer the commitment, the lower the price. We also have discounts when nutrition and/or massage are included.
We understand the initial hesitations one might have—whether it's concerns about cost or being hesitant about commitment—but like so many of our youth athletes and their parents have attested, they've gotten exceptional value and are glad they joined.
