YOUTH SPORTS PERFORMANCE COACHING FAQs
Youth sports coaching is tailored to the critical growth periods of young athletes, focusing on enhancing coordination, balance, flexibility, and endurance.
Unlike adult programs, which often emphasize maximizing physiological qualities, youth training prioritizes fun, skill discovery, and the development of a strong foundational base.
Our programs are customized to account for individual growth patterns and maturity levels, ensuring that each child's unique developmental needs are met.
We base our youth sports performance programs on The Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. This is a framework that ensures the holistic and progressive development of athletes from early childhood through all phases of adulthood. It is structured around several sequential stages that cater to the physical, psychological, and sports-specific needs of athletes as they grow and mature. The stages range from introducing basic motor skills to young children in a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment, to optimizing performance in high-performance athletes, designing programs for late-adolescence and early-adulthood; and encouraging ongoing fitness and health throughout life. One of the primary goals of this model is to promote lifelong engagement in sports and physical activity, whether for competitive athletics or a healthy lifestyle.
For child and youth athletes, each stage of the LTAD model is designed to match the developmental age and readiness of the athlete, rather than their chronological age alone. This approach helps to minimize the risks of overtraining, injuries, and burnout, while maximizing physical and mental development. The model often emphasizes a multi-sport approach in early stages to develop a broad athletic base. Too much single-sport focus in childhood can lead to asymmetrical physical and skill development. As athletes progress through the stages, the model allows for increased specialization. This structured yet flexible development pathway helps athletes achieve their personal best in sports, while also equipping them with the skills and habits necessary for lifelong physical activity.
During their first training session, young athletes can expect a comprehensive introduction to our sports performance environment, starting with a warm welcome from the coaching staff and an overview of the session's goals. We conduct a comprehensive initial assessment to gauge current fitness levels, skills, and potential areas for improvement, ensuring a personalized training plan.
The first session will also likely include a mix of basic conditioning and movement exercises, skill-based drills, and a recovery period to introduce athletes to the training regimen gradually. This initial experience is designed to set expectations, familiarize athletes with the coaches and training process, and establish a foundation for their athletic development journey.
Parents can expect regular updates and reports provided by our coaching staff, detailing improvements, challenges, and milestones. Our app allows parents to access their child's performance data, including statistics on physical performance, skill development, and participation in training sessions.
We like to have periodic meetings or consultations as needed to discuss the child's progress in depth and to outline future goals and strategies for development. This multi-faceted approach ensures that our parents are well-informed about their child's journey and can actively support their growth in our programs.

We offer classes after school on weekdays and in the morning on Saturdays. We have a wider range of time-slots in the summer and also have sports-specific summer camps. Please give us a call today to find out about our current schedule.
Prices depend on frequency and commitment. The more classes or sessions per week and the longer the commitment, the lower the price. We also have discounts when nutrition and/or massage are included.
We understand the initial hesitations one might have—whether it's concerns about cost or being hesitant about commitment—but like so many of our youth athletes and their parents have attested, they've gotten exceptional value and are glad they joined.
